The Laser 4G Outdoor Security Camera uses available 4G mobile coverage for live viewing, motion alerts and event playback through the Connect SmartHome app. It includes data for the first year and comes with a 3W solar panel to help top up the built-in 7000mAh rechargeable battery when installed in suitable sunlight.

Where can you use a 4G security camera?

This camera is suited to outdoor locations where Wi-Fi coverage or access to mains power is limited. Use it to help monitor a caravan, shed, rural entrance, detached garage, driveway, side access area, holiday property or worksite where suitable 4G mobile coverage is available.

The IP65-rated housing is designed to resist dust and rain when the camera is installed upright with its covers and seals properly closed. It is not designed for submersion. For more reliable motion detection, avoid installing the camera behind glass or facing moving traffic, swaying trees, bright lights or reflective surfaces.

Compatibility and setup

The camera works through the Connect SmartHome app and supports Android 6.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later. It does not support Wi-Fi and does not accept a physical SIM card. Keep the supplied QR code card safe because its unique codes are required to pair the camera and recharge data after the first year.

Recordings are triggered by motion events rather than recorded continuously. Insert a compatible microSD card before setup, format it to FAT32 and confirm that it is recognised in the app. When the card becomes full, the oldest event recordings are overwritten automatically.

Solar charging performance depends on direct sunlight, weather, season, panel angle and installation location. In shaded locations or during periods of low sunlight, additional USB charging may be required. Fully charge the camera before its first use.
