Setup, power and compatibility

Set up the calendar with your home Wi-Fi, a compatible smartphone and the free Whale Framely app.

iPhone and Android

The Whale Framely app is required to complete setup, invite members and connect external calendars.

2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required. This model does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.

Mains powered

The calendar must remain connected to power and does not contain a built-in battery.

Indoor use only

Choose a dry indoor location away from direct sunlight, heaters and humid areas.

Port note: the USB-C connection is for power input. The USB-A port and SD card slot are present but not operational.

No. The Whale Framely app is free to download, and no ongoing monthly or annual app subscription is required for everyday calendar and family-planning features.

Can I add and edit events directly on the touch screen?

Yes. You can add, view, edit and delete Whale Framely events directly from the calendar display. Connected family members can also manage events through the app.

Does it work with Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple iCloud?

Yes. Google Calendar, Outlook, Hotmail, Live and iCloud calendar syncing is supported through the Whale Framely app. Google and supported Microsoft calendars allow selectable one-way or two-way syncing.

Can it be placed on a table or mounted on a wall?

Yes. A table stand is included. Wall placement is also supported when a suitable mounting method is selected for the wall type and the calendar can remain safely connected to power.
