Full HD Video (1080p @30fps)
The Navig8r Crash Cam PRO records high quality video at 1920 x 1080 and 30 fps. Not only does the Full HD (1080) image show the finer details, but the superior graphic chipset (CMOS) results in improved image contrast, sharper line detail (aliasing), smoother image frame rate and true to life colours.
Big screen & HDMI output
The Navig8r Crash Cam PRO comes with a large 2.4” LCD screen so you can see more. Playback of video is clearer and the onscreen menu is more legible, especially when the Crashcam PRO can display a full screen speedo – yep, that’s the ‘real’ speed you’re travelling as measured by GPS. The Navig8r Crash Cam PRO can also connect to any Full HD TV via HDMI so you can see all the action on the big screen.
Featuring built-in GPS tracking, the Navig8r Crash Cam PRO dash cam comes with PC software which shows date, time, speed, location details, journey tracking (on Google Maps) and of course video. The Navig8r Crash Cam PRO stamps the video footage with longitude and latitude details alongside date, time and speed (all of which are automatically synchronized with GPS) – so it’s accurate all the time.
Warns you of upcoming speed / safety cameras and detects speed signs
Preloaded with the latest Safety Camera data from Here® the Crash Cam PRO will alert you when approaching a fixed safety camera and display the road speed limit as well as a distance countdown to the camera ahead. The Safety camera database includes speed cameras, red light cameras and combination red light / speed cameras and the annual updates are free for the life of the Crash Cam Pro. Additionally, the Navig8r Crashcam Pro can detect Speed limits from street signs and re-display these speed limits on the display.
The Crash Cam PRO’s on board G sensor (accelerometer) is highly accurate and records in 3 axis. So you can see how hard your car was hit from any angle. Ideal for identifying what got hit when in the event of an incident.
Wide viewing angle
With a wide 127°field of view, the Crash Cam PRO can capture more peripheral vision. Seeing more of the scene around you gives better perspective on the incident.
Night time vision
The Crash Cam PRO features a superior 6 element glass lens and a high quality graphics chipset (with advanced multi segment metering) - negating the need for IR illuminator LED's. This means that the Navig8r Crash Cam PRO performs better in low light and high contrast situations (like sunset and oncoming headlights).
Save the big hits - automatically
The Crash Cam PRO has a feature called “auto bump file record" - so if you get a hit, the recorded video is automatically saved and protected. Peace of mind knowing that in the heat of the moment, you don’t have to remember to save and protect the video file which recorded the incident.
The Navig8r crash cam Pro includes a built-in microphone to capture sound inside the cabin, useful for recording notes or comments about an incident. Optionally, it can be turned off when you don’t need it.
Lights on reminder
At night time or in tunnels or underground carparks, the Crashcam Pro Dash Cam shows a reminder to turn on your lights.
Driver Fatigue reminder
On long journeys, the Crashcam Pro can be set to show visual and audible warnings to have a rest break after periods of continuous driving (length of driving period can be set in the menu).
For the PRO driver - Direct Connect and adhesive mount
The Navig8r crash cam Pro can be direct wired to a vehicles 12v (or 24v) electrical system, negating the need for the standard 12v Cig socket. That’s because the step down transformer circuitry is in-line and not in the plug of the cig. Socket. Additionally, the Navig8r Crash cam PRO comes standard with a 3M adhesive mount to (semi) permanently mount the Dash cam to the windscreen without fear of it falling off, especially in the event of an accident. (suction mount also available as an option).
Stop and go alerts
The Crash Cam PRO alerts you when you have stopped (say at traffic lights) and when the car in front of you moves off.
A full screen digital readout shows your actual car speed as measured by GPS. Ideal for comparing actual speed versus what your car’s speedometer is showing.
Track & Analyze
Comprehensive software is supplied with every Crash Cam PRO. It allows you to view and analyze the video and route information as well as track your journey on Google Maps with speed and location information. The Crash Cam PRO also stamps the time and date information as well as lat/long location information on the video footage so you can view this on a TV or media player (without the software). As the date and time are automatically synchronized with real time from the GPS feed, the video incident details will always be accurate.
Easily select or change the language on your display and Voice alerts, in Menu.
*Note: Please be aware of privacy issues when recording incidents in public. Recorded image quality will vary with different lighting and speed of travel.
*This is NOT a navigational device (it will not guide you to a location), it records your GPS track information.
* Auto on/off feature is dependant on vehicle being on or off (your vehicle’s 12V cigarette socket must be off when the ignition is off).
* Speed camera updates are for Australia only and are (for now) free of charge :)
Why is wide angle lens on a camera important?
Not all actions happen directly in front of you, so having a camera that has a restricted view will eventually miss something of importance. Recording as much information as possible is critical and it can only help in capturing more footage around you. Choose a wide angle action camera or crashcam rom the Laser range to suit your recording needs.
Why is motion detection important?
Motion detection automatically turns on and begins recording when motion is detected. Even when your car is not running and unattended, if either a burglar or another car hits yours for example, the camera will begin recording. Make sure you choose your Navig8r crashcam with Motion Detection feature to monitor your car for you.
Why do I need time stamp?
The time stamp is a very useful tool. Some of its uses are to: record the date and time of an incident for future reference, help locate sections of a recording if it is particularly long, verify when the footage was taken. It can be used as a business tool to monitor the date and time of customers visits by employees. Choose one of many Laser cameras with Time Stamp feature today.
Why do I need HDMI?
HDMI is the most widely used format for home audio and visual equipment today. It is the simplest way to connect various home AV equipment using only one cable to deliver top quality digital sound and image. Look for Laser products with HDMI connectivity for the perfect and simple connection.
Why do I need G-sensor on my crashcam?
Preserve and back up incident files –
It is easy to overlook in those hazy moments just after an incident, that the footage you have just recorded may be lost when automatically overwritten and erased. (Crash cam cycle records by design constantly reuse memory space) The G-sensor will take care of this by monitoring impact and once triggered, will automatically preserve the current file from being overwritten.
Record while away from car –
Constantly recording footage whilst driving is a great feature, however what happens to my car when it is unattended. Will the G-sensor still work? Yes. Crashcam models that support "bump recording" will automatically turn on and start recording when it detects impact.
What is the difference between HDMI, component and composite?
HDMI, Component and Composite are all ways which Audio Visual playback equipment such as DVD and Blu Ray players, connect to Televisions and other peripheral display devices. As technology advances, new connection ports that deliver better performance are added to these devices while older connections are phased out. None are more obvious than analogue connections being replaced by superior digital connections. For example, Composite and Component are analogue connections and will require more than one connection cable to deliver video and audio. HDMI is a digital connection, supporting a higher quality video and audio signal all connecting via just the one cable. For reference, HDMI will deliver the best quality image, while Component will deliver an excellent image, and Composite will deliver a good image.
What is the difference between different version of HDMI? Say 1.4 vs 2.0?
Higher or newer versions of HDMI usually mean that they can transfer higher volumes of data. This means higher audio, pixel and frames rates as well as, compared to earlier HDMI versions, the provision to network the connected devices over the HDMI cable (Versions 1.4 and above.) Latest model TVs demand newer cables in order to deliver its best performance with 3D, Full HD, network, and even 4k. For the best reliability in transmission between your player and your TV, choose a Laser HDMI version 2.0 cable.
What is the difference between batteries?
The latest development with Lithium-Ion (LI) battery technology has been the introduction of the Lithium Polymer based battery. Not only does the Lithium Polymer battery last longer, the battery is no longer limited to traditional battery cylindrical shapes. The battery can now be moulded into a customised shape to fit inside any product making it the choice for manufacturers developing the latest slimline and stylish devices. For best results and like with all other batteries, LI batteries should always have top up charges if put in storage for extended periods of time.
Can Crash Cam be used as a legal eye witness?
Crash Cam footage and any video footage such as those from security cameras or simple photos taken by smart phones are regularly used as evidence during legal proceedings. These critical pieces of evidence regularly help to collaborate accounts and can effectively been seen as another eye witness account. Invest in a Navig8r Crash Cam today to be your eye witness partner.
How much difference is there between 720p and 1080p?
These are used to describe picture resolution show the number of vertical lines. In the case of 720p, 720 lines are displayed. In the case of 1080p, 1080 lines are displayed on the screen which is probably the most common resolution on TVs today. 1080p is higher in resolution and will display a noticeably better picture.
Should I buy a SD card with the biggest memory so I can record more?
For most cameras, you want the biggest capacity SD card so you can record more. However it is not a critical requirement for crash cameras as they cycle record and continually recycle space on an existing card. The need to purchase a larger card would come down more to the cost differential between sizes and any possible second use you may have for the card when not in use for example as a camera card or as memory for another portable device.
Meet the “Big daddy” of dash cams. The Navig8r Crash Cam PRO features unrivalled image clarity, GPS tracking and speed camera warnings making it the perfect in-car black box for professional drivers.
